As of November 1, 2023, most juveniles will no longer have to register as a sex offender and be eligible to seal their convictions. Law enforcement will start removing eligible people from the registry soon and mailing letters confirming they have been removed. If you receive a letter indicating that you have been removed from the registry, please contact our office for a free consultation to determine if you are eligible to seal your offense.

When your child is under investigation by CPS

We understand how emotionally challenging it is for parents in situations where one child is accused of some form of misconduct against another child in their care. Parents want to support all of their children, and this can sometimes feel impossible. We have a lot of experience helping families navigate these wrenching situations. We are able to provide representation to either the parent/guardian or the child, but not both, and will provide you with a referral for the party we do not represent. Typically, if there is a criminal investigation underway as well, we represent the child, but ultimately, this is a decision for you to make. When appropriate, we have located therapists to help the child under investigation. These are difficult situations, but they are not permanent. We appreciate how sensitive these matters are, and are proud of the work we’ve done to help families survive during, and heal from, a challenging time in their lives.
